Love all the feedback I got on the 1st round of designs! I concede that the Rising Sun flag, while awesome, carries a lot of history with it and therefore maybe shouldn’t be used. So I cooked up one with a less controversial Japanese icon instead.

Thinking more about it I mocked these up. I think the one on the left is the winner. It is cute and simple and I love it. (Bounding box for illustrative purposes only)

I also realized that the air cleaner runs upright... not horizontal. Oops!

I also did a “color” render of my favorite from the first batch.

Yeah... still is a bit much... but SO COOL gar!

IMO simpler is better - maybe just stick with the original simple design.

I was going to comment on the historical significance being... shady.

But, unlike the swastika, the Rising sun flag is still used by many people... even the USAF.

Granted, some far-right groups have used the Rising sun flag in distasteful ways... So if your car is ever at a Cars and Coffee or smt like that it’d be best to avoid it. The Domo one is nice though.

And it’s too bad about the rising sun - it looks awesome, but yeah too much history there.

I say don’t worry about the rising sun, it’s pretty common place and doesn’t really upset anyone under 80 anymore. The sticker looks awesome.

It reminds me of my grandfather who used to say ‘I’m not buying a car from someone who shot at me’. He served as a PT boat captain in the Pacific.

My father used to always say  in response ‘They never shot at me’ and he only owned Japanese bikes.
